lol this is such nonsense, econ admissions dont even require STEPOops, incoherent post: Econ attracts just as good students at undergrad as Physics/CS, and better than Engineering and Chemistry for sure. Better than Maths until you reach v. extreme right tail (extreme right tail of Oxbridge). Hence the quality of students upon graduation in economics is very strong. The fact that plenty of those relative lemons in Eng/Chem go onto PhDs shows that it can't be as difficult.
