Well if you're from next-door and you feel comfortable in Colombia, and you're not happy where you are, and Colombia is TT and Australia is only post-doc, and you feel you'll have a better material standard of living in Colombia -- what are you waiting for?? I'd get on that plane now if I was in your shoes.
by the way my wife and I are originally from Venezuela .... and sadly coming back to Venezuela is currently not an option
