Economist on "Placement at IMF/WB/Fed"

when modeling their "agents", economists take the higher knowledge into account, but when making their own decisions, they claim they don't.

this is either hypocrisy or stupidity.

These kind of questions really make me worry. Are you actually interested in what people do at these places? I would even understand if you ask about salaries. But these questions about rankings and prestige among "people"... jesus. Who do you even mean by "people"? Is that what you are going to base your career decisions on?

how do people see placement at IMF/Worldbank/Fed board? equivalent to top20? Or lower/higher?

Economist on "Why did this Booth guy end up in a Chinese LRM?"

As mentioned, SAIF is not LRM in China. It may be LRM globally, but in China, it's VHRM.

Given that Shaq's JMP is not the greatest, perhaps it was Shaq's best offer.

The JMP and cv seem really weak... SAIF wouldn't have hired him if they r really not lrm...

No no! This guy is awesome but he left because he was bullied by white America. They couldn't stand his brilliance. Confirmed.

I know quite a few Asian Americans from HRM undergrad and HRM grad who left for Asia. You get sick of the white man. Seriously. They are the cruelest race of people.

You get sick of nationalistic natives. The white man is no different from any other man with power: e.g. Japanese in China.

I said here before that the program was demand and based on the unique programs and project team needs..so sad people are still holding on to a door with no handle. So sad!...I will tell you guys again..avoid the ops stream the reason its there is so that in case other specialist areas have not been filled due to an oversight issue the from the relevant GE grade, then a capital markets team can forward needs to HR and get a person from ops specializing in financial markets. Another mistake from our side I have to agree is the positions experience requirements where even 0 years people knocked out people with 3 yrs after the online tests. This has presented a challenge indeed cause their are already complaints about the green horn MA recruits with no experience. Next year the program will hire less from Africa and more from US, Middle East and Asia. Im not sure about Europe...Its tinkering every now often, one crisis to another and has been bad for investment and generally business. From Euroz-one crisis to now migrant crisis....

Personally I think it is better to focus but make sure you have sufficient diversity in the level of places you are applying to. If you do micro there isn't a lot of point applying to a macro job for example.

Macro job candidate detected.

actually I'm micro

Yes, only apply to those 20 jobs. Then start thinking about how your research profile will fit in at Burger King, which will be the job you ultimately get.
