What a f**k3d up profession. The issue becomes not whether his research is good or not, but whether he has enough "votes" to gain an offer, and whether people like his personality or not.

People actually care about the personalities of the colleagues they will spend years or decades with. Crazy, I know.

It says "To use this widget you must first provide a full address and at least one phone number in your candidate profile" but I really don't know how to let JOE website to know about the contact information for my reference writers.

When I go to candidate page, I can give their names and affiliations but not contact information. Can anyone please help me on this?

oh please. So much BS. Most of their top tech people come from top schools. Maybe you're talking about other, less important, roles like sales or account management.

Is this even surprising if they don't look at top schools? The top end of the cohort at the top schools are leagues ahead of a MRM stateuni student.

Google/Facebook's engineering dept. is scarcely different from an elite Wall Street firm in how much they value prestige:

There are three main pathways to getting an interview at Google/Facebook:

1. Attend an HRM school
2. Do an internship in a reputable company
3. Connections

If you are at an LRM school, all the above 3 options may be closed to you, which explains why some big state schools fail to place even one engineer at Google/Facebook in a year.

Just to be clear here, they do hire LRMs and kids from various state schools. I'm just saying that school still matters since they probably do most of their recruiting at top tech schools.

You can data mine linkedin and check for yourself. They're looking for the best and brightest but obviously you're more likely to find the best and brightest at top schools. Not terribly surprising.
